George Brown College was founded in 1967 and is named after George Brown, a Father of Confederation and a 19th-century Scottish-born Canadian politician and newspaper proprietor.

Services for International Students

If you are a student with a permanent or temporary disability (mental health, medical, learning, physical, or sensory) the George Brown team will work with you to create an academic accommodation plan to help you succeed in achieving your goals. The Counselling Service will help you learn strategies to reduce your stress, connect with resources that will help you cope, and provide a safe space for you to share what’s on your mind.

Accommodation

George Brown College offers on-campus as well as off-campus accommodation.

The College provides housing for its students close to St. James Campus, the Daphne Cockwell Centre for Health Sciences at Waterfront Campus, and Casa Loma Campus, both of which can be reached via public transportation in less than 40 minutes. The rooms are equipped with Wi-Fi, cable TV on a flat screen, a phone with local calls, and other utilities. Students might choose to pay in instalments because there are payment choices available.

For off-campus accommodation, students can choose between single and shared rooms in dormitories.

About Location

George Brown College has three campuses. The Casa Loma Campus is the main campus, whilst the St. James Campus is home to the faculty of Financial Services, Creative Arts, Business Administration, and Centre for Hospitality as well as Culinary Arts. The Waterfront Campus is the newest site and houses the Centre for Health Sciences, which debuted in 2012.
