Overview

The University of Regina (U of R) is a major public research university in Canada, located in the province of Saskatchewan. It was founded in 1911 as a private denominational highschool of the Methodist Church of Canada and began its association with the University of Saskatchewan in the capacity of junior college in 1925. The University has three federated colleges, Campion College, Luther College and the First Nations University of Canada.

The U of R is well-known for having a dedicated focus on experiential learning, offering internships, and professional placements in addition to the cooperative education placements in almost 41 programs. In 2009, the University launched a UR Guarantee Program. In this special program, participating students are given a guaranteed successful career launch after their graduation by supplementing their education with experience so that they are able to achieve specific educational, career and life goals.

Services for International Students

The University conducts a yearly International Student Orientation Program in the fall season to guide international students for a perfect start to their academic journey. The University’s main campus is located in Regina, a city with hundreds of parks and recreational areas. Being the welcoming capital city of the province of Saskatchewan in Canada, Regina is a well-known travel destination for residents of the southeastern part of the province and the adjacent regions of the neighbouring US states of Montana and North Dakota.
