The University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC) is a research-intensive public university situated in British Columbia, Canada. The main campus of the best small university of Canada is located in Prince George. As the university is located in the north, it is a member of the University of the Arctic.

The University provides undergraduate and graduate learning opportunities through its various programs that explore the subjects of health, economies, cultures, sciences, and the environment. Services for International Students

UNBC has many resources to help out international students in their transition to a new country. The management encourages students to learn about UNBC’s academic policies and procedures so that they are better equipped to understand and handle the change they will be facing.

The Academic Success Centre (ASC) at the university provides skills to the students that make them shine out as successful learners. This is done by offering one-to-one and drop-in tutoring services that include online support and specialized services for students whose primary language is not English.

The Career Centre assists students in preparing for employment by conducting career fairs twice a year that give them the opportunity to meet future employers.

The housing at UNBC is a convenient, supportive, and safe community for students. The buildings at Neyoh and Keyoh can house around 500 students and offers fully-furnished apartment-style homes that are located within a five-minute walking distance from the campus. Both buildings have WiFi, full laundry facilities on each floor, and a large common area for events, study halls, events, and games. Each suite in the apartment complex has:

  • Large living room

The main campus of UNBC is located in Prince George and the others are in Prince Rupert, Quesnel, Terrace, and Fort St. John. The Prince George campus is located on Cranbrook Hill and is widely known for its innovative architecture. All the buildings of UNBC have been designed to represent the northern landscape. The nearest airport to the University is Prince George (YXS) Airport, which is 9.2 km away.
