Scholarships at Brock University

Brock Scholars awards are open to incoming students from anywhere in the world. To qualify, you must be entering your first undergraduate program in the Fall term (no previous post-secondary experience).

Requirements

Determining the value of your Brock Scholars Award:

The Brock Scholars Award is offered on the basis of your admission average and is renewable. The minimum average to be eligible for this award is 80 per cent*. Brock calculates your admission average to the nearest 10th of a percent. We do not round averages up or down. This award is only applicable for the offer of admission with which it is enclosed.The final value of your award may increase or decrease if your final admission average changes. To remain eligible for the scholarship amount you have been offered, you must achieve the minimum final admission average for that scholarship range. If there is any change in the amount you will receive, you will be notified. If your final admission average is less than 80 per cent* you will no longer be eligible for a Brock Scholars award.

Final admission average:

In Ontario, a student’s final admission average is determined using the top six Grade 12U or 12M credits including prerequisites. If you complete a non-Ontario curriculum, the final admission average criteria will vary by curriculum, and will be determined by the Admissions Office. Courses taken in the summer following graduation will be used for scholarship revisions, but official transcripts will only be accepted until Oct. 31.

Scholarship disbursement:

Your scholarship will be applied directly to your tuition and/or residence fees. This will take place before classes begin in September, reducing the amount you owe to the University. Scholarships cannot be used for first instalments or down payments. **Students eligible for tuition waiver assistance will have the scholarship noted on thier transcript but are ineligible to receive the monetary value.

This scholarship will be made to entering full-time international or domestic student(s) in any graduate program at Brock University who demonstrates academic excellence.

This scholarship is made annually to one or more full-time international students in any field, in the first or subsequent year of a graduate program, who has achieved high academic standing and who does not receive substantial financial support from his/her country.

Students will automatically receive the award if they are citizens of Colombia, Kenya, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Pakistan.

This scholarship is made annually to a full-time graduate student currently enrolled in the MA Political Science graduate program who demonstrates academic merit. Preference is given to a student from Ghana. If there is no eligible Ghanaian student, the scholarship is to be awarded to an international student.

This scholarship is made annually to full-time domestic or international students who meet at least two of the following criteria: 1. Has exceptionally high academic standing; 2. Had demonstrated leadership in school life and community life or provided evidence of entrepreneurial talent as opposed to academic merit; and 3. Has financial need.

This scholarship is made annually to an outstanding full-time graduate student in Chemistry who has an excellent record in research, course work and demonstrating. Preference will be given to international students.

Application instructions

A total of 12 awards at $2,500 each may be given out to students coming from HELP, Taylors, CUD and Sunway, totalling $30,000. (Eligible schools list subject to change):

• awarded to a maximum of 12 students transferring to full-time studies at Brock University from each of Taylors University College; Sunway University; HELP University; Canadian University of Dubai
• students must have completed all pre-requisites and program specific requirements outlined in pathway agreement
• $2,500 awarded if all admission requirements are met and will be applied towards tuition and mandatory fees
• non renewable; first year of study only
• awarded to first 12 students to accept their offer in an academic year (May/Sept/Jan admission)

• IB diploma successful completion
• AP: incoming first year undergraduate students with three AP courses with an exam score of 4 or more in each
• A-level final year average C or higher

The International Education Fund Award will be awarded annually to entering 1st year international undergraduate students. The award value will be determined by Student Recruitment. To be eligible, students must demonstrate academic promise. This entrance award is non-renewable. This award will only be available until the funds are exhausted.

Awarded to two (2) 1st year undergraduate students who show academic promise and financial need.

This scholarship is made annually to an international student studying Physics at the graduate level who has achieved a high academic standing in-course and whose studies are not fully funded by his/her government.

This scholarship is made annually to a full-time domestic or international student entering a graduate program in the Faculty of Mathematics and Science having a first-class standing or admission average of not less than 85%.

This scholarship is made annually to an outstanding full-time international graduate student entering the Chemistry graduate program with a minimum overall admission average of 80%.
