University of Lethbridge receives $500,000 to expand student wellness programs

The University of Lethbridge, Canada, has expanded its REC room (Refresh, Energize, and Connect), a recreation program, to support connection, play, and physical activity among students. 

Embark Student Foundation, a Canadian education savings and planning company, for sponsoring $500,000 to the institution’s REC program for its positive impact on student’s experiences.

Andrew Lo, President and CEO, Embark, said: “By supporting these innovative programs, we hope to enrich the lives of students and give them the skills they need to thrive both today and in the future.”

The recreation program has several mind exercise games and activities like puzzles, chess, virtual reality games, ping pong tables, and giant Jenga games.
