Toronto named best university in Canada by CWUR 2023 rankings

The University of Toronto has been ranked as Canada's best university in the CWUR 2023 rankings.

Toronto came in at 23rd overall, placing them within the top 0.2 per cent of universities in the world. Other Candian universities in the world top 100 included McGill University, University of British Columbia and University of Alberta.

The CWUR rankings evaluate universities and colleges on the following four indicators:

Quality of Education: based on the academic success of a university’s alumni
Alumni Employability: based on the professional success of a university’s alumni
Quality of Faculty: measured by the number of faculty members who have won prestigious academic distinctions
Research Performance: based on research output
