Scholarships at Vancouver Island University

This award is provided annually to new international undergraduates who have applied to a degree granting program with a strong academic background. Awarded to up to 20 of the top academic applicants entering in the Fall semester based on grades from submitted transcripts.

Open to international student applicants who have applied to attend a degree granting program at VIU and who are graduating from a British Columbia high school with a Dogwood Diploma. Applicants graduating from a BC Offshore School are also eligible to apply. Awarded to the top 5 applicants entering the Fall semester based on final grades (highest average in combined marks, minimum of 85%) in:

• English 11 or 12

• A Social Studies 11 or 12

• Pre-Calculus or Foundations of Math 11 or 12

Open to international student applicants who have applied to attend a degree granting program with a strong academic background. Awarded to up to 8 of the top academically outstanding applicants (1 award per region based on citizenship and not residency) entering in the Fall semester based on grades from submitted transcripts.

Applicants must be international students who will be studying in Canada on a Canadian study permit. Students must be entering VIU from a UWC school and applying for their first undergraduate degree. Applicants must demonstrate superior academic achievement: (a minimum predicted IB Diploma score of 30 or greater at time of application) and demonstrate financial need. 

This scholarship is only applicable to degree programs and cannot be deferred.
