Founded in 1973, Parkland College is a post-secondary education institution in Canora, Saskatchewan. Previously named Parkland Regional College, it became Parkland College in 2008. The college has six campuses and is affiliated with the following universities:
Parkland College offers a variety of bachelor’s diplomas, certificate programs and adult basic courses, including programs in Accounting, Dentistry, Firefighting, Nursing, Journalism, Knifemaking and Welding. Parkland College also has a Research Farm, with up to 30 research projects taking place every summer.
There are over 600 full-time and 1,650 part-time students enrolled at Parkland College. Every year, Parkland welcomes students from countries all over the world, including those from India, Nepal, Mauritius, Chile, Fiji, Jamaica, Ukraine, and Vietnam.
At Parkland College, international students receive support in various forms. This includes a scholarship pool worth up to $100,000, direct entry into Saskatchewan Polytechnic, smaller classes and employment opportunities via the Careers Service.
International students are provided a pre-departure and pre-arrival flowchart to guide them before setting off for Canada.
Parkland College can assist international students with homestay and private housing.
Parkland College is made up of seven campuses primarily located in Yorkton and Canora. The Parkland region is perfect for those who enjoy exploring the outdoors all year round. Located in Central Saskatchewan, the Yorkton Campus is close to Madge Lake and Good Spirit Lake. Popular activities include fishing, hiking, canoeing, boating etc.
