Overview

Acadia University is a public undergraduate university located in Wolfville, Nova Scotia. Apart from undergraduate programs, the university offers graduate programs at the master’s level and another at the doctoral level. There are programs with over 200 degree combinations in the four faculties of professional studies, arts, pure and applied science, and theology. All these faculties are further divided into schools and departments specialising in teaching and research. With an average class size of almost 28, the university has a student: faculty ratio of 15:1.

The liberal arts curriculum that is offered with a sense of belonging helps in laying a solid foundation for the future aspirations of all students. Founded in 1838, it is one of the oldest liberal arts universities in the country that imparts education of a quality that helps students grow well in life.

Accommodation

With 11 residences on the sprawling 250-acre campus, more than 1500 students live in the residence halls- Chipman House, Chase Court, Christofor Hall, Cutten House, Crowell Tower, Dennis House, Eaton House, Seminary House, Roy Jodrey Hall, Whitman Hall, and Willett House. These residences have various options, be it heritage homes or high-rises with double rooms and single deluxe suites. 

On-campus living allows students to stay close to the state-of-the-art classrooms and labs, apart from the Athletic Campus and 50 acres of woodland trails of the stimulating environment at Acadia. The university dining hall has food prepared by award-winning chefs who resource their produce locally, some of which are also grown by students in the organic gardens at the University. All students can purchase a meal plan according to their needs and budget, whether they live on-campus or are day scholars.

Acadia University is one of the essential parts of the quintessential college town of Wolfville. This beautiful town overlooks the Annapolis Valley and Bay of Fundy, famous for high-quality vineyards and orchards, which makes living, especially dining, at Acadia a blossoming and fulfilling experience for the students.

Students can reach the town via Halifax (YHZ) Airport, the closest international airport, just 70.6 km away from Wolfville.
