Scholarships at Humber College

This entrance scholarship is available for Graduate Certificate, Diploma, and Advanced Diploma students joining Humber in September, January and May academic intakes for their 1st semester of study.

This Scholarship incentive will equate to CAD 2,000 off student’s tuition fees over the course of their first 2 semesters of studies. Further details of this scholarship are:

• This scholarship is for students with a high academic qualification (students with GPA 85%+ and 6.5+ IELTS (or equivalent in TOEFL, Duolingo, senior high school grade in English) looking to be rewarded for their performance in the senior year of high school, college or university.

• Each term/semester a total of 10 undergraduate and 10 graduate eligible new international students will be awarded a CAD 2,000 scholarship.

• Scholarships will be awarded for students that received their Letter of Acceptance, confirmed their offer and submitted a scholarship application by the following deadlines:

Eligible students must pay their tuition fees in full and scholarship amount will be credited to the student account after the 10th day of classes. The scholarship will be disbursed in two installments over the 1st two semesters.

To submit your scholarship please submit the following:

• Humber Student ID number

• Confirmed Letter of Acceptance from Humber College for full-time program commencing in the appropriate Semester

• Personal statement of interest – must include your Grade Point Average.

• 2 reference letters (professional, and/or academic, and/or volunteering)

Please note:

• Students must be enrolled in a full-time academic program at Humber for the first time in order to be eligible for scholarships. In addition, students must have received an official offer of admission/letter of acceptance.

• Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.

• Scholarships are not refundable and cannot be deferred.

• Only successful applicants will be notified. All scholarship decisions are final.

Eligibility is based on students high school academic achievement.
Renewable scholarships will be reissued if the student achieves 80% or above in each year of the Bachelor's degree.

Conditions and Criteria for Eligibility:

• The College allocates entrance scholarships for degree programs to newly admitted students entering their first year of post-secondary studies directly from high school.

• Eligibility will be assessed based on the grades used to determine the student’s admission GPA. The student’s admission GPA will be calculated to one decimal place.

• The student’s admission GPA must meet the academic requirements for the scholarship at the time of admission.

• Academic requirements for the scholarship, and their corresponding awards, are the same across all degree programs.

• Students requiring preparatory courses in their first year or subsequent years of study are not eligible for the scholarship.

Conditions and Criteria for Renewability:

• Eligibility for scholarship renewal will be assessed at the end of each academic year and based on the student’s final GPA for each year. GPA will be calculated only on all courses taken during the fall and winter semesters.

• Students must maintain an Honours GPA (80% and above) in order to qualify for scholarship renewal each year. The student’s GPA will be calculated to one decimal place.

• Successfully renewed scholarships will be awarded at the same amount that was originally awarded on admission.

• Students must be registered in and complete a full‐time course load, unless otherwise determined in accordance with Disability Services.

• Students must remain registered as a full‐time student in consecutive years for the duration of their degree program.

• If the student becomes ineligible for scholarship renewal, previously awarded scholarship funds will remain as awarded towards the student’s tuition fees.

• Any exceptions to the conditions of renewability will be at the discretion of the official designate of the Office of the Registrar. Exceptions will only be considered through official petition by the student’s Faculty and on written recommendation from the Faculty’s Dean.
