This award was created in memory of Dr. Fatemeh Haghighi, a doctor of pathology and university professor. In her more than 30-years of service she trained many physicians at the Birjand University of Medical Sciences and Health Services in Khorasan, Iran. Selection will be based on academic performance and an assessment of the admission application package.

Selection is based on the assessment of the student's admission application and preference is given in the following order: students from Haiti; students from Africa; then any other international student.
