Overview

Mount Royal University (MRU) is a public university that was founded in 1910 and is located in Calgary, Alberta. Currently, the university offers 12 degrees along with 36 majors and has an average class size of 32 students. Providing future-focused degree programs in sciences and arts, social services and health, education, communications and business, along with diploma programs in social and aviation, the University has been imparting quality education to students for decades.

Mount Royal University was awarded the Ashoka Changemaker Campus designation in 2017, which brought the university among the 44 educational institutions that are leading higher education in areas of social innovation and change-making. There are around 15,000 students currently enrolled at the University. 79% of the graduates work in positions related to the program from which they have graduated within a year of completion of their program.

Accommodation

The Mount Royal residence has two separate complexes: West Residence and East Residence. Both these complexes are designed for independent student living, and can accommodate almost 1,000 students. The residences are available in either townhouses or apartment units and have private lockable bedrooms along with shared living rooms and kitchens.

The West and East Residence complexes are only a few minutes’ walk away from the many facilities that are available at the University, including fitness facilities, academic support, a brand-new library, a doctor’s office and much more.

About Location

The main campus of Mount Royal University is located in Lincoln Park, Calgary. The University has another campus, just west of the main campus by the name, Springbank Campus, in the community of Springbank. The university has state-of-the-art classrooms and recreational facilities. The students also get to witness award-winning eco-buildings and a world-class concert hall. The campuses can be accessed through the Calgary International Airport and Springbank Airport.
