Loyalist College is an English-language college located in Belleville, Ontario. It is formally known as Loyalist College of Applied Arts and Technology and is also popular as Ontario’s Destination College. As an educational institution, Loyalist College focuses on small classrooms that give them the leverage of providing one-on-one attention and hands-on experience to the students through the 70+ post-secondary and certificate programs, and 12 postgraduate programs.
Founded in 1967, the college empowers students, staff, faculty members and partners for impeccable knowledge transfer to the industry and community through experiential, economical and cluster-based applied programs and research. Loyalist College provides housing to students in the Loyalist College Residence that is situated on campus. This residence option has five buildings and can house almost 474 students. Apart from the main residence, there are also 4 townhouse blocks that can accommodate 112 students.
The main housing option of the campus has a Residence Commons, which is a building that contains laundry facilities, a security office, computer access, a food station and an entertainment area. The entertainment area has pool tables, TV, and ping-pong tables for the students.
The main campus of Loyalist College is located on 200 acres in the Bay of Quinte region, which is perfectly positioned between Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal. Loyalist deliberately chooses to be a community college, with roots deep in the overall community and region it serves. Apart from the main campus, the college also has a satellite campus at Bancroft, that offers diplomas and certificate programs and also serves as a centre for continuing education and a resources hub.
The nearest airport to the college is the Lester B. Pearson International Airport in Toronto, which is situated almost 2 hours from Belleville.
The College has also established two campuses in India, one in Ahmedabad and another in Chandigarh. These campuses offer diploma programs in Biotechnology, Environmental Technology, Chemical Engineering, Sports and Leisure, and Fitness & Health and Recreation.
