The average cost of living in Canada will be significantly higher when located in metropolitan cities such as Vancouver, Toronto or Montreal. Generally, students will need to budget a further CAD 10,0000 - 11,000 annually to cover living expenses such as books, stationery, food, bills, travel and social costs.

Accommodation

Most Canadian universities and colleges have on-campus accommodation, but space is limited so be sure to apply early. If you live in on-campus accommodation, you can expect to pay CAD 8,000-10,000 per year. If you live off-campus in private accommodation, rent can be higher.

International students will require a student visa, which is known as a Study Permit in Canada to study at a Canadian university or Designated Learning Institution. The cost of this permit is approximately CAD 150.
